The coalition needed to stop looking like a traditional, "youthful" childcare service and start looking like the powerful advocacy group they are. They were focused on systemic change, but their brand felt stuck in the classroom — a mismatch that undercut them every time they walked into a policy meeting.
Talking with the coalition, what stood out was the gap between what they were doing — real policy work, systemic change — and how they looked doing it. Their materials still read as a childcare service, when the room they needed to command was a legislative hearing.
I shifted the visual identity away from the usual "kids' stuff" toward something professional and authoritative enough to hold its own in a policy meeting, while keeping it grounded in the Vermont community they represent rather than corporate and distant.
From there I led the rollout across the full identity system — merch, business cards, event signage — so the coalition finally had one unified, recognisable voice across the entire region.
